It is characterized by an outstanding confluence of endemic species which is well known in the whole Europe. There are still many wild and not very anthropized environments. The site is of significant interest both for the presence and the reproduction of endangered animal species, of important glacial relicts, of exclusive and/or typical species of the Alps.
