Zona Speciale di Conservazione Fiume Tronto tra Favalanciata e Acquasanta

Tronto river between Favalanciata and Acquasanta (S.C.I.)

It is the Tronto river course between the villages of Favalanciata and Acquasanta (m 500 - 600) and of the relating right orographic side corresponding to the base slopes of the Laga Mountains Group, up to the altitude of about 900 to 1,000 m. The whole area is made up of compact sandstone. The riparian vegetation is represented by common alder forests and white willow forests. The slopes feature chestnut forests (also high forests) and aspen forests. Chestnut forest: 80%.
