Tirino river first stretch and Macchiozze di San Vito (S.C.I.)

Southeastern mountain spurs of the Gran Sasso, with garrigues with Cistus creticus and Satureja montana montana. Mesophilic mixed forests with Acer obtusatum and Ostrya carpinifolia. Important presence of the important Tirino river, which hosts several hydrophyte communities. Along the riverbanks one finds many specimens of Salix cinerea, which represent a unique association in the region.
