Holiday farm Locanda della Rocca
In a hamlet on the mountains of
Monti Sibillini National Park, an ancient farmhouse has been renovated to create the Holiday farm Locanda della Rocca, using
environmentally-friendly materials and respecting the original structure, but employing modern anti-earthquake technologies.
The rooms are in warm and relaxing colours, and their furniture and linen evoke the traditional houses of the region. They are provided with underfloor heating/cooling system, flat-screen TV and wi-fi.
Large bathrooms with window and towel warmers.
At the ground floor,
breakfast is served in the country-style, stone-floor room: ingredients are produced in the farm or nearby, to ensure a perfect start of the day. Guests may also book their genuine lunch or dinner, to discover delicious traditional food.
Small-to-medium size pets are welcome to stay with you.
Welcome
We take care of our guests as we would do with friends, always mindful of their needs and requests, and trying to convey our love for these mountains and ancient villages full of history.
We can help you to choose among the many
hikes and cultural itineraries in
Monti Sibillini National Park, with their mountains, lakes and medieval villages, cities of art, hermitages and sanctuaries, in the land of the Little Flowers of St. Francis. You may also go
mountain-biking, skiing, paragliding, swimming or canoeing, or take a break at a
spa, enjoy the
local cuisine, or assist to one of numerous
folk events.
The wonders of
Monti Sibillini National Park are only a few kilometres away.
Information on the area
Rocca Colonnalta is a small hamlet within the
Park. Two km past the State route you will find a wood at the foot of a mountain (we are 700 m a.s.l.). Only few people live here all year round, but a XIX century, octagonal chapel, now condemned, is evidence of an ancient past.
The surroundings feature
medieval villages - some of which are awarded with the Orange Flag, the excellence label by Touring Club Italiano -,
sanctuaries (this is the region of the Little Flowers of St. Francis),
cities of art like Macerata or Recanati.
Charming views of the mountains, lakes, and the sea. Hikes, mountain bike, ski, paragliding, spas. And all year round, renowned cultural, folk and food events are organised in the nearby towns.
