Bioagriturismo

A trip to Pollinaria is a unique insight into the history, primal energies and horizons of a rural world. In the heart of Italy's Abruzzo region, it integrates research projects merging art and science with agricultural practices supporting biodiversity. An ancient rural complex constitutes the core of these various activities, while simultaneously being a dwelling for travellers in search of unexplored itineraries. Pollinaria is immersed in a vast wildlife and forest reserve, where pastures and centuries-old woodland coexist with organic farmed land.>>>

Stay

Every room, within the original walls of the late 18th century farmhouse, known as la Volpe, is named after one of the patriarchs of the founding families who once inhabited the house: l'Abbate, lu Pizzute and Peppine lu Mocculose. The former pig stables have been adapted into an independent residence: il Trogolo. All rooms benefit from antique furnishings and fine examples of Abruzzian farm crafts.>>>

Average prices for double room: €70,00/€80,00

History

Signs of human settlement from times long past mark the environment of Pollinaria, forming a large pattern of manor farms and hamlets. From the 1850's to the 1920's, this land and its communities made up the glorious farm of Raffaele Baldini Palladini, a pioneer of modern-day olive growing. The actual Baldini Palladini olive mill has been recently converted into the Olive Oil Museum of Loreto Aprutino, a unique venue that brings history alive and instills in its visitors a cult for the olive fruit and its oil.>>>

Surroundings

The area around Pollinaria is rich in historical, artistic and natural treasures. There are the ancient villages that once completely dominated the rural landscape home to the Vestini people and the peaks of the Abruzzi Apennines; the great heritage of nature and biodiversity enclosed in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park and Majella National Park.>>>

Certification

Pollinaria's tourist hospitality is certified by ICEA - Ethical and Environmental Certification Institute.>>>
