Hotel Il Buongustaio is situated in S. Carlo, a small town in Massa.
S. Carlo lies at the foot of Alpi Apuane and is about 10 km far from Marina di Massa (a seaside resort), where every day you can take the ferry to Cinque Terre.
It is at about 8 km from the highway toll booth: taking the highway, you can easily reach Pisa, Florence, Lucca, and S. Geminiano.
In 30 minutes you can reach Carrara, the town of marble, which provided Michelangelo the marble for its works.
At about 20 km there is Mt. Corchia, housing the most important caves of karstic origin of Apuane.
