Antica Podesteria is also called Casa Luca, from the Abbot and local podesta's tenant farmer called Casci Luca, progenitor of several families still living in Badia Prataglia. The current owner is the son of Casci Luca's last great-granddaughter Iliana: he wanted to create an accommodation and holiday structure recovering the old medieval house situated in a panoramic place, with private garden and barbecue, surrounded by the most beautiful forest of Tuscany, now National Park
The House consists of three apartments, two big apartments (for 8 guests) and one small apartment (for 4 guests), for a total of 20 beds. The apartments have:
- Complete bathroom
- Fireplace (big apartments)
- Large outdoor garden with barbecue.
In the year 986, a group of rebel monks left from Montecassino Abbey and was welcomed by the Bishop of Arezzo. The Bishop gave the monks one of his estates in the upper Casentino area, situated at 1,000m of height and surrounded by forests and uncontaminated meadows. The estate was called Pratalia. In 1002, Pratalia Abbey was already built, and in 1008 the current Romanesque-style country church (now Parish Church dedicated to St. Mary Assumption) was built.>>>
