(Grande Escursione Appenninica) with panoramas and environments of rare beauty. In winter you can practice climbing on ice walls and tours with snow rackets.

Nearby you can visit several waterfalls like the famous Acquacheta Waterfall (described by Dante in Canto XVI of Inferno) or the waterfalls of Calabuia, Pretella, Doccione, Pescino, important summits like Mt. Falterona (1,654m), sacred to the Etruscans with Lago degli Idoli, the wonderful Fonte del Borbotto beech tree, and the spring of the river Arno (also described in Inferno by Dante), Mt. Acuto (1,481m), and Mt. Falco (1,658m).

The Sacred Forests

Borgo di Serignana, situated along the trail, is an ideal place if you want to have a stop along the itinerary of the Sacred Forests which, crossing the ridge of the Tosco-Romagnolo Apennines and its millenary forests, gets to Camaldoli Hermitage and La Verna Sanctuary.

The Park Visitor Center

In Castagno d'Andrea you will find the Park Visitor Center, where you can visit the virtual museum dedicated to the Renaissance painter Andrea del Castagno. In the Park Visitor Center, guided visits to the Park are periodically organized. Moreover, here you can receive all the information regarding the area.
