The House

Bed & Breakfast Abaco Home is part of a small period building, and is a characteristic house of Ortigia: ancient and full of charm. During the renovation works, some evidences in sandstone and calcareous stone have been found, as well as wooden beams and jambs, some of them dating back to a period before the earthquake of 1693, embellishing the bedroom and the living room.
The apartment has two independent entrances for the guests, one of which through a small inner courtyard full of green. The house location in a pedestrian street guarantees a complete relax.
The rooms, finely furnished and provided with any comfort, create an elegant and homely atmosphere.

The Rooms

The master bedroom is characterized by Sicilian furniture of the 19th century, curtains and lamps made by local craftsmen. At the walls, paintings and ancient engravings by English travelers in Siracusa.
Great care is put in the choice of the linen, following a simple style, characterized by delicate colors, in harmony with the interiors. The fibers used are exclusively natural, and the bed strictly orthopedic.
In the adjacent room, the guests can read a good book or watch the TV. Should it be necessary, it can be transformed into a comfortable bedroom for two persons.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped for any kind of preparation, between Sicilian majolica and old recipe books: if you love cooking, you will have the opportunity to recreate Arab, Norman, and Catalan dishes which still survive in our gastronomy.
The furnishing of the services mainly consists of wood and beautiful linen. The guests are offered ancient home-made Sicilian soaps with olive oil, which have become precious and very difficult to find.
