"IL BESTIARIO TATTILE" FROM MIRAMARE PRESENTS: THE TURTLE!

Tactile, recreational and scientific workshop for children aged 5 to 10 years.

The workshop will make us know the sea turtle, a reptile who perfectly adapted to live in the sea. In the Mediterranean Sea there are three species of turtle, but the most common one in the Trieste Gulf is the Loggerhead Sea Turtle. This Turtle is a very good swimmer, it lives on shellfishes, crustaceans, sea urchins, little fishes and even jellyfishes: anyways, its gluttony is also the reason why it often is victim of accidents. It often happens that this turtle mistakes the plastic bags which float in the sea for its favorite jellyfishes. The Loggerhead Sea Turtle is long-lived and very strong: although it is only few centimeters as a newborn, it can be more than 1 meters in length as an adult and become very very heavy.

  • Where and when: in Castelletto di Miramare, from 4.00 p.m. until 5.30 p.m.
