Your guide to Gran Paradiso National Park!

Among the Exclusive and Official Hike Guides of the Gran Paradiso National Park (Aigae e Agenva VdA), Gianni Tamiozzo has a long-standing experience in nature tourism and knowledge of the Alpine territory, gained as a park ranger and nature observer; National Instructor of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) from the 1970s to 1990s, he proposes, as a Park Guide, some unique mountain initiatives. In the spring and summer: Books: "PDF Storia dello stambecco" and "PDF Tra i camosci"

Activities for everybody: individuals, families, associations

Spring is particularly suitable for learning hikes and outdoor school activities. A one-day trip with a Park Guide is always worthwhile. In the next few months (May, June, and beginning of July) remarkable aspects of the cycle of seasons in an Alpine environment can be discovered, and wild animals can be observed "live". Catching sight of Alpine ibex, chamois and marmots is always fascinating, and even animals which were thought to be extinct might be spotted. Recently, bearded vultures have nested and wolves were spotted: species that had disappeared between XIX and XX century. Forests gaining ground again, and man leaving the mountain, add to the curiosity, and make field observations particularly interesting. A new idea of high mountain environment and biodiversity. Mind your equipment: you will need reliable hiking boots, wind jacket, fleece jumper, sunglasses and a rucksack. I also recommend to take good, light binoculars with you, and some food for the whole day.
