On 13th and 16th May in the Parco dei Gessi Bolognesi e Calanchi dell'Abbadessa (Emilia-Romagna, very near Bologna)
The Ente Parco suggests for this weekend a thick calendar of initiatives.
On Thursday 13th there will be the inauguration of the botanic route "Umberto Bagnaresi", dedicated to the President of the Park, who died on 13th May 2003; meeting at 5.00 p.m., in the Park Center.
Again on Thursday at 9.00 p.m. "Le orchidee del Parco dei Gessi", presentation of the guided visit dedicated to the Park orchids taking place on 16th May, in the WWF Regional Library, in via Kennedy 55 in San Lazzaro di Savena (info: Tel. 051/467817), and therefore on Sunday 16th WWF will organize the naturalistic guided visit "Le orchidee del Parco dei Gessi", with experiments of macro-photography. The meeting will take place at 9.00 a.m., in the holiday farm Dulcamara, via Tolara di Sopra (Ozzano Emilia - BO). The return is scheduled at 1.00 p.m. (info: Tel. 051/467817).
On Sunday 16th, "Concerto al tramonto", concert at the sunset, at 7.00 p.m. in the Parco Villa San Camillo in via Seminario, 1 - San Lazzaro (BO).
On the same Sunday the initiative “Storie di contadini, artigiani e guerrieri tra età del Ferro e Medioevo - Tales of Farmers, Craftsmen, and Warriors between the Iron Age and the Middle Ages” will take place: usage and custom of the Iron Age within the Villanovian hut reconstructed in the Museum, and search for the signs of the first medieval settlements on Mt. Croara, in the Museo Donini, via F.lli Canova, 49, at 4.00 p.m. (Tel. 051/465132. Compulsory booking. Cost 5 Euros).
Moreover, on Sunday 16th May the Ente Parco organizes a speleological guided visit to the Grotta della Spipola. The meeting will take place in location Palazza (Via Benassi - Ponticella di S.Lazzaro) at 9.30 a.m.
The visit is suitable to everyone, if you are in good health conditions; not advisable for less than 8-year-old children.
Advisable clothing: rubber boots or hiking boots, clothes to “get dirty” and suitable to a temperature of 12°C (sweater, k-way, trousers). It is advisable to bring clothes and shoes to get changed at the end of the visit.
The cost is of 15 Euros for more than 18-year-old persons and of 7 Euros for less than 18-year-old persons, to pay in advance on the CCP 26849406 to: Parco dei Gessi Bolognesi - Via Jussi, 171 - 40030 Farneto di San Lazzaro (BO); the receipt of the payment must be handed in to the guide on the day of the visit.
