On 2nd and 6th June in the Parco Nazionale del Gargano (Puglia, near Bari)
“Primavera nel Parco Nazionale del Gargano” is the name of the initiative consisting of a real network of tours along the Park paths and trails, organized by the operators of the Visitor Center of Monte Sant’Angelo (FG): nature lovers will have in this way the opportunity to discover the Park. The program of this weekend is the following.
On Wednesday 2nd June “A cavallo nel Parco – Riding in the Park” between Manfredonia and Monte Sant’Angelo: on an old carriage, drawn by Murge horses, you will discover the paths on which local history has passed. An enchanting tour in Località Ruggiano, where the karstic phenomena built wonderful landscapes, with dolines and furrowed fields. It is an easy itinerary, suitable for everyone, especially for children, who will have a lot of fun.
On Sunday 6th June “Le tre pietre di Diomede… le Isole del Parco – The three stones of Diomed… the Isles of the Park”, a tour suitable for everyone, leading to the discovery of the Tremiti Islands.
On Sunday 6th "Il risveglio della Foresta - The Forest Awakening", tour in the Foresta Umbra, the heart of the Parco Nazionale del Gargano, suitable for groups and families who love walking in the open air. It is advisable to wear different layers of clothes, to bring water, binoculars and to wear comfortable shoes.
Every Sunday in June (and therefore on Sunday 6th) “A spasso nella storia – A journey through history”: the several historical evidences left in our territory mark the passage of populations and rules living in the Gargano in the past. The town of Monte Sant’Angelo, with its monuments, is the most striking example. The itinerary is easy, suitable for families and for people fond of art.
Finally, every Saturday and Sunday in June (and therefore Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th) “I trabucchi del Gargano”, a tour suitable for everyone, leading to the discovery of the ancient and clever fishing instruments which can be found along the coastal stretch between Vieste and Peschici.
