News from the Italian Parks

Following the recent meeting held in Arischia between the Park's managers and the ASBUCs (Italian acronym for Separated Adminsitrations of the Goods of Civic Use) of Paganica, Assergi, Arischia, Collebrincioni and Aragno, the path for the shared planning - aimed at continuing the collaborations established by the "Praterie" Proeject -  went on with positive results.

Besides the themes regarding the LIFE Project and the actualization of the commitments made to ratify the grazing regulations, in compliance with the Guidelines established during the participatory process which involved all the protected area's stakeholders, the meeting made it possible to propose the solutions to those problems particularly significant for the ASBUCs, starting real synergies about the initiatives in favor of breeding.

One of these initiatives is the drafting of a memorandum of understanding for the "Enhancement, control and monitoring of pastures", whose main innovation is the establishment of a revolving and solidarity fund for the safeguard of both pastures and breeding farms, which will be integrated by the economic resources of the entities that will start cattle control modalities in order to follow the movements of flocks and herds and to prevent phenomena like rustling.
