The Hostel
Hostel La Pania is a youth hostel situated in
Alpi Apuane Park, near the characteristic medieval town of Pruno.
From here, several CAI trails leading to the most important summits of Southern Apuane leave.
For its eco-compatible management choices and for the structure features, it has been inserted in the circuit "EcoWordHotel" and has received the plate no. 1 of the structures recommended by
Alpi Apuane Park Authority.

It is possible to carry out tours in the most beautiful mountains of southern Alpi Apuane and to visit the charming equipped cave of Antro del Corchia (the longest tourist cavity in Europe) and the nearby Caves of Marble where Michelangelo stayed from 1518 to 1520 to withdraw the marble. It offers the traditional local cuisine of Tuscany based on local gastronomy products. The Hostel has an area where you can load and unload luggage and the public car park is only 80 meters away.
The large dining room welcomes up to 45 guests and is also used as workshop and exhibit hall. Accommodation is in rooms for 5 / 8 persons.
Each room has its own reserved bathroom on the same floor and two rooms offer en-suite bathroom. For particular events or courses, the structure can be entirely rented in self-management.
The price includes breakfast and, on demand, sheets and bathroom linen are provided.
On demand, it is possible to have lunch and dinner with personalized menu.
Activities
Hostel La Pania is situated in the heart of
Alpi Apuane Park and, for its peacefulness and wonderful green setting, it houses an Eco-center for the sustainable development where summer stays, eco-tourist activities, residential training courses, and school trips are carried out.
During the stays, our clients will experience a direct contact with nature also through various hiking and environmental didactics proposals to discover the beauties of Alta Versilia.

The Town
At the foot of southern Alpi Apuane, the town lies at 468m asl and is inhabited by about 100 residents. It is characterized by the Summer Solstice, when the rising sun illuminates Mt. Forato. Moreover, this town is famous for its Living Christmas Crib prepared, on 24th December, by the inhabitants inside their houses to show visitors the town in the early 20th century.

Leaving from this enchanted town, it is possible to carry out tours surrounded by the green nature of Apuane and visit the mountain pastures witnessing the past transhumance activities, or you can reach higher altitudes towards La Pania, Il Corchia or go through the hole of Mt. Forato.
