The "Don Bosco" Salesian Museum in Lombriasco houses, among the other naturalistic and ethnographic collections, a high-value herbarium: the Gresino Herbarium organized between the late 19th century and the early 20th century by the Salesian Don Giacomo Gresino (1859-1946).
In the herbarium all the groups of plants are documented, the collection includes about a thousand specimens building one of the most significant collections as far as botany is concerned, not only in Piedmont but also in other places. Many specimens from European and non-European areas have been included in the herbarium thanks to the exchanges between Gresino and specialists and organizations from all over the world.

Thanks to an agreement with the Piedmont Region and the Po and Collina Torinese Protected Areas Managing Authority, the Salesian Agricultural School could realize the renovation of the herbarium room and the new preparation of the collection in order to allow the consultation of the specimens included in the herbarium. Through the collaboration between the Po and Collina Torinese Protected Areas Managing Authority, the Regional Museum for Natural Science and the University of Turin another project has been launched for the computer cataloguing of the data written on each label, the realization of digital pictures and the georeferencing of every single specimen. Such documents will be available on the Internet for everybody all over the world: for the first time in Piedmont everybody will be able to consult a herbarium collection at a distance.

The "Don Bosco" Salesian Museum in Lombriasco and the Herbarium are also one of the Visitor Centers in the Po and Collina Torinese Park.

Computers and other didactic materials in the Visitor Center are available for the public.
