Orbassano Red Celery

Definition
Celery (scientific name Apium graveolens) is a vegetable belonging to the family Umbelliferae, the same family of parsley and fennel. Coming from Europe, where it is cultivated since the 17th century, celery is widespread in the temperate regions of Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. The varieties of the same species include celery, celeriac (Prague giant celery), and salad celery (green celery).
Red celery is sown in March-April with broadcast sowing, and then is moved to the fields. It is harvested at the end of October-beginning of November.
