Directions

By Car

  • From the north: take Chiantigiana road from Florence (SS 222 - 72 km), crossing the Chianti hills or the expressway (SS 2 superstrada Siena/Florence - 68 km).
  • From the south: take the highway from Rome (A1 Rome-Florence, exit Valdichiana), then road no. 326 (Bettolle-Siena - 240 km).
 

By Train

Railway Stations:

  • Siena Railway Station
    If you come from the north, you can directly come from Florence, while if you come from the south you can directly come from Chiusi or Grosseto. The railway station is situated at about 2 km from the historical town center, which you can reach in 5 minutes with the following bus lines: no. 3, 8, 10, 17, 77 (Railway Station - Piazza del Sale), no. 17 (Piazza del Sale - Railway Station).

Bus:

There are direct links with several towns in the north and in the south, the most frequent ones are from:

  • Florence along fast way (1h 15 min) or direct way via Poggibonsi, Colle Val d'Elsa (1h 35 min): TRA-IN (Tel. 0577/204245), SITA (free phone number 800 - 373760). Departures from the bus station in front of Santa Maria Novella railway station in Florence;
  • Rome: direct link (2 h 45 min), departures from Roma - Tiburtina railway station, SENA (free phone number 800 - 930960 - Tel. 0577/283203).
