Pojala Lake (2,305m)

  • Trail Conditions: On foot
  • Interest: Geology, Panorama

Wonderful alpine lake situated at the edge of Pojala pasture, next to the borders of Alpe Devero Park. The area (adequately registered as a biotope of great interest) is well known for the so-called "voragine di Pojala" (abyss of Pojala), that is a creek running towards the valley and, a few hundred meters before Pojala mountain huts, disappearing in a depression of the ground characterized by evident calcareous outcrops; this abyss, about 2 km long, houses the torrent which emerges again near Alpe Bionca.
Itineraries: to reach Pojala Lake, there are two different itineraries.
