Navette Woodland Itinerary

  • Trail Conditions: On foot,
  • Interest: Flora, Wildlife, Panorama
  • Duration: 5 hour/s 30 minutes
  • Difficulty Level: EE - For expert hikers
  • Difference in height: 450m

After leaving from the meeting point near Valcona Soprana country hamlet (1,500m), take a narrow road called "camin di carrelli" surrounded by the larch tree woodland that, with a slight slope, leads to Margheria Binda (1,610m); from here, follow another snow-clad track until you reach the large plateau of "fascia pornassina" where you will find the ruins of upper Margheria Binda and, after a while, you will meet the carriage road (1,900m) crossing Navette Woodland. After a tour of the wonderful and uncontaminated basin dominated by Cima Ventosa and Punta Farenga, go ahead along the slightly uphill snow-clad trail near the houses of Caccia Manfredi. After the stop for the packed lunch, it is possible to carry out another pleasant tour in the above-lying deep valley situated at the foot of the northern slope of Punta Farenga, to begin then the downhill trail across the woodland, leading back to Margheria Binda, where the ring-route ends and you will go back along a short track partly belonging to the uphill trail.

Necessary equipment: mountain clothes, trekking shoes, snowshoes, eventually ski poles.
