Tor Marancia

  • Trail Conditions: On foot
  • Interest: Flora, Wildlife
  • Length: 7.6 km

Tor Marancia's name probably comes from that of Amaranthus, a freedman belonging to the Numisi Proculi's family, Roman nobles who inhabited this area. The towers situated all over the Roman country, built for defensive and observation purposes, were often called with the names of those families that owned the grounds where the towers were built.
