Didactic Proposals of the Environmental Education Center Aveto Park - INFEA Network of the Ministry of the Environment
The Environmental Education Center of Aveto Park, recognized by the Ministry of the Environment as "Experience Center", is part of the Environmental Education Regional System consisting of a network of centers working on the territory and coordinated by C.R.E.A. (Environmental Education Regional Center). It organizes several didactic and tourist activities in the Park:
- Didactic activities for schools
- Refresher courses for teachers and promotion and sensitization courses for adults
- Thematic and seasonal proposals
- Guided visits for groups, companies, and associations.

At School in the Park
The Environmental Education Center offers several activities dedicated to kindergartens, elementary, middle, and secondary schools. The great variety of environments present in the Park gives the opportunity to thoroughly study several aspects linked to nature, history, architecture, etc.; moreover, thanks to the collaboration of several local companies, it is possible to develop projects regarding the cultivation, local products, diet, etc.
Within the Park there is the Mine of Gambatesa, a mining site no longer in use where guided visits are carried out (especially for schools). In Rezzoaglio there is the Museo del bosco (Museum of the forest), a small Visitor Center dedicated to the forest (Tel. +39 0185 870171) where it is possible to take part to didactic workshops about the recent and past history of the forest and its importance for biodiversity.
In loc. Bocco Pass, at the foot of the wonderful beech tree wood of Mt. Zatta, there is the Park mountain hut/guest house "A. Devoto" (Tel. +39 0185 342065), with about 40 beds for environmental tourism stays.
"Experience" Projects
"Experience" Projects are educational activities dedicated to the schools of the Park Municipalities and include meetings, tours, refresher courses for teachers, and final exhibits of the works in the Park Offices in Borzonasca. The "special" offers give the opportunity to develop different themes every year together Environmental Education instruments that will be subsequently included in the "catalogue" offers.
The project proposed for the current school year is entitled "A Monte di tutto" and is dedicated to didactic and practical in-depth examinations and experimentations about the theme concerning the hydrogeological instability from the point of view of a mountain territory. The educational activities and workshops will take place during May and June 2013 at the new cultural and didactic structure of the Museo del Bosco.
- "Catalogue" Projects
"Catalogue" Projects include consolidated educational offers dedicated to various issues.

Cost of the activities:
Half day: 4 Euros/pupil
Full day: 6 Euros/pupil
2-hour classroom lesson: 50 Euros/class (50% reduction on the lesson if you combine it with a tour)
- On the school behalf, transport, room and board.
- For the schools of the Municipalities, the activities of the "experience" projects are free of charge, while for the "catalog" projects there is a 50% reduction on the above-mentioned prices.
