I monti di Genova

47 escursioni sui rilievi che sovrastano la città

Behind Genoa, a few kilometers from the Ligurian Sea, there are important mountains like Réixa, Dente, Punta Martin, Alpesisa, Fasce, and many other minor summits, covered with meadows or woodlands, where you will find venerated sanctuaries, spectacular fortresses, and several evidences of a rural world on the wane.
Although in a relatively limited area, the routes suggested in this guidebook are diversified: from short and easy walks suitable also for children to long traverses along very panoramic ridges up to the demanding hikes with considerable differences in height leading from the coastal centers to the highest summits.
Many itineraries start from the heart of the urban areas and, to get out of them, they often use charming pedestrian ways, locally called "creuse". The description of the routes are enriched with information on the most significant places, contributions by hikers and researchers, and hypotheses on the origins of the place names.
