Inaugurated in 1998, Casinetto Park Center houses the administrative and institutional offices of the Park. The building, which is the central nucleus of Casino dei Boschi, was used at the times of Maria Luigia as court theater. Owned by Carrega Princes, it was purchased by the Park Authority in 1994 thanks to a regional financial help.
Besides the Park Offices, it houses cooperative offices, exhibit halls for artists and associations, and permanent exhibits like the historical Carrega wood samples collection and mushroom exhibit. Moreover, it is the departure point of "Museo dei Boschi e del Territorio" which, besides the indoor displays, continues outdoors with the garden of Villa Casino dei Boschi, the thematic routes of the living wood samples collection, the route of the Patience of the tree, of the monumental trees, the ice house, the dynamo control unit, the historical porter's flat in Ponteverde, and Maria Amalia's bath.
When Casinetto Park Center is open, on Sunday afternoon it is possible to rent a mountain bike to carry out short tours along the main roads or the Park trails.
Casinetto Park Center also houses the Environmental Education Center, certified by the Region.
To reach Casinetto, it is advisable to use Case Nuove parking area (access from Sala Baganza, Via Olma).
Only on Sundays and holidays in July and November, from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
Closed in January, August, and December.
