Anguillara Small Broccoli

The plant of Anguillara small broccoli has a central stalk with large and irregular lobate and dentate leaves with a bright green color. The floral scape develops at the base of each leaf. Once it has developed, it is harvested cutting the stalk at 8-10cm from the ground. The cultivars used can be divided into two categories: early (Cinquantino, Sessantino) and late (Novantino, Centoventino, Aprilatico). The two early varieties are reproduced by using seeds with over 30 years. The taste is sweet, with a cauliflower aftertaste.

  • Production Area: Anguillara Sabazia (RM)
  • Production Period: The sowing period goes from August to mid-November, using the different varieties according to the duration of the production cycle. Harvesting is manual when the plant has reached the height of 30/40cm and the first flowers have developed (from mid-September onwards, according to the varieties).
