The Park is situated next to the Orobie Bergamasche Park comprising the Orobie Prealps, and it extends over 200 hectares in the territory belonging to the Municipality of Lenna. Two different climatic situations can be identified: a mild one in a south direction, where the main built-up area of the administrative division Scalvino is situated, and a colder one, which determined both the growth of a different vegetation and a particular location of human settlement. Because of the Karst system strongly characterizing the mountains around the valley, in the area there are many springs which create a particular habitat for endemic flora and fauna.
