| The Park overlooks the hills of the Province of Varese and the Po Plain. It is delimited in the north-west by Valcuvia, in the east by Valganna, and in the south by the town of Varese. It includes two important mountain groups, i.e. Campo dei Fiori and Martica, which are separated by Valle Rasa. The particular geographical location and the geological features favored the presence of a various vegetation, with chestnut tree and beech tree woods, typical fora of the rocky areas, marshy and peaty zones rich in wildlife. There are several interesting historical and architectural sites, like Sacro Monte, Albergo Tre Croci del Sommaruga, and Rocca di Orino. |
