Diocesan Museum in Velletri

The new furnished Diocesan Museum is situated in the marvellous frame of Castelli Romani Park in Velletri. In it invaluable and unique works of art are gathered, such as the "Croce Veliterna", a precious reliquary cross dating back to the 11th-12th centuries and made of watermarked gold and enamels; works by Gentile da Fabriano, Bicci di Lorenzo, Antoniazzo Romano, Giovan Battista Rositi, Francesco da Siena and extraordinary church ornaments and vestments are also preserved there.
Moreover, the Diocesan Museum in Velletri offers a lab activity dedicated to students, whose aim is to draw them nearer to the art.

  • Opening hours:
    Every day, including holidays, 10.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. - 7.00 p.m.
The Museum is closed on 25th December, 1st January, at Easter, and on 15th August.

There are guided tours in Italian and in foreign languages (French, Japanese, English, Russian, and Spanish) by previous booking. The visitors can use the service "Audioguida Tip", which is included in the entrance ticket.
