The upper section probably dates back to the 17th century and preserves traces of late 17th century frescoes. The building was completed after about one century, that is in the late 18th century, when the additional floor was added and both the upper and lower floors were painted with frescoes that covered the 17th century frescoes. We do not know the name of the first owners who sold the palace to BRONZINI family coming from Tricarico. In 1971, the Palace was purchased by the members of Circolo La Scaletta, who gave it in 1985 to the Municipality of Matera for cultural activities.
At the moment, it houses the Offices of Murgia Materana Park Authority, Circolo La Scaletta, Deputazione di Storia Patria per la Lucania - section of Matera, and Comando Stazione Matera bis of the National Forest Service.
