Bruntino Alto (Villa d'Alme) - Prati Parini (Sedrina)

Trail in the mountains

  • Trail Conditions: On foot
  • Interest: Flora, Wildlife
  • Departure: Bruntino Alto (fraz. di Villa d'Almè)
  • Arrival: Prati Parini (Sedrina)
  • Duration: 3 hour/s
  • Difficulty Level: intermediate
  • Length: 8.5 km
  • Difference in height: 355m
  • Recommended Period: from March to June, from September to November

The itinerary leaves from Bruntino Alto, a small town in the north-east of Villa d'Almè situated in open order on a terraced slope cultivated with vineyards and facing south. Halfway through the slope, almost tangible junction between Bruntino Alto and Basso, there is the ancient small church of S. Mauro. From the small church, you can reach the pass facing Valle del Giongo. There are two alternatives. The first one consits of going ahead for about 500m on the road leading downhill towards Valle del Giongo, abandoning it to enter the woodland on the right along an agricultural-breeding-forest road. Continue slightly uphill until, going round a rib (border of the Nature Reserve and SCI), the itinerary becomes a trail and enters on the left a very thick woodland. It continues then along a rib and on a larger trail eastwards, to reach a plateau (loc. Zappel d'Erba), the point where also the alternative route ends, less tiring but also less charming.
