The places of worship in Carnia are situated in strategic points and represented the visible cornerstones of the territory.
In Villa Santina there are three churches witnessing the importance of this area: Pieve di Santa Maria Maddalena, one of the most ancient churches of Carnia, and the churches of Madonna del Sasso and Madonna del Ponte. These buildings, mainly built by local workers, are the expression of the artistic and craftsmanship culture characterizing the communities at that time.
