Adriano Polesano Garlic

Garlic is a vegetable that has found in Polesine an ideal temperate climate for its cultivation: as a matter of fact, the area has been interested over the centuries by the overflows of the rivers Po and Adige that have left a clayey soil, giving this product unique organoleptic features and taste. Cultivated in Central Polesine and in the Municipalities of Papozze and Adria, it represents the 90% of the garlic production in Veneto and the 60% of the national production. Adriano Polesano garlic is a quality product opposing the presence of the rather bitter and tasteless garlic coming from China. Recently, Adriano garlic has been nominated to become a Slow Food presidium, that is a product to protect and preserve. All the producers join Consorzio Adriano, whose offices are in Adria.
