For a not very attentive visitor this large wetland - the Po Delta is the second one in the Mediterranean as far as its extent is concerned - could appear monotonous or even "empty". One only needs a short pause and a more careful observation to discover a very rich and varied natural life.
The territory taken into consideration in this guide approximately lies between the Adige and the Po of Volano.
