Bird Watching

The Po Delta is characterized by an extraordinary bird heritage with 370 species of aquatic, sedentary, migratory birds and birds of passage that can be observed in every corner of the territory.

  • Via delle Valli Sud
Big stretches of water where it is possible to observe thousands of ducks, wading birds, and mud-dwelling birds in all seasons. The stretch between Porto Levante and Po di Maistra is equipped with watchtowers and observation points.

  • Oasi di Ca' Mello
Managed by Veneto Agricoltura, it has a watchtower. Here you can sight the Bearded Reedling.

  • Valle Canelle
At the crossroads between the SP road of Rosolina Mare and Via delle Valli, on the right, heronry of purple and grey herons. During the summer, it is possible to sight flamingoes going along Via delle Valli, leaving not far away.

  • Po di Maistra
The river, in the past the main branch, is considered the most spectacular branch of the Po Delta for the richness and variety of bird species it houses, as well as for the presence of an incredible riparian arboreal heritage.
