Rivers Zero and Dese

The river Dese originates from the karst springs in the locality of Brentanella, north of Resana and not far from the sources of the rivers Sile, Marzenego, Draganziolo and Zero.
It has cloudy slowly-flowing waters crossing the municipalities of Resana, Piombino Dese, Trebaseleghe, Scorzè, Martellago, Venezia and Mogliano Veneto. In the municipality of Venice, after the confluence with the river Zero, it separates with its own branch, the Santa Maria canal, linking it with the Siloncello canal and then with the Silone. It flows into the Venetian Lagoon, by the Cona swamp.
