The Great Traverse of the Tevere (GTT)

The great traverse of the Park from south to north in 7 laps

  • Trail Conditions: On foot
  • Interest: Panorama, Archeology, Hystory
  • Difficulty Level: E - Hiking (level)

It mainly consists of itineraries of intermediate difficulty or not very demanding itineraries leading to visit some of the most important historical, archaeological, and speleological features of the area or its most interesting panoramas.
Existing tracks and the thick network of forest and cattle tracks or carriage roads suggest an exciting traverse itinerary which, with laps that can be carried out by ordinary hikers and using already existing accommodation structures for the stops, it enables to cross the whole River Tevere Park from south to north.

The Great Traverse of the Tevere (GTT), marked in this way along the trails, can be carried out on foot in seven laps. However, for particularly trained hikers, tourists by bike, on horseback, and bikers, it can also take less.
Besides this demanding traverse itinerary, we would like to recommend several ring-routes that can be carried out in one day by the hikers and their families.
