Environmental Education Program 2012/2013

The Park offers to Schools an information service, as well as a naturalistic and environmental education service. Proposals are planned according to the specific needs of different schools, ages, and programs, recovering the main concepts and experiences promoted by the Park from Kindergartens to Secondary Schools.
The Park Environmental Education Proposals include two kinds of activities: the "Green Pages" for the schools within the Municipalities of the Park Authority (that is Bologna, Ozzano nell'Emilia, Pianoro, and San Lazzaro) and naturalistic guided visits and guided visits to the farmstead for all schools.

The "Green Pages" describe the opportunities for the Park schools, educational modules and guided visits dedicated to various environmental issues, mainly linked to the geological and naturalistic features of the Protected Area (gypsum areas, gullies, wetlands), but also to organic farming, waste, ecological behavior, energy... We can agree on the proposals at school and help each Teacher. Teachers who would like to plan with the Park an original project, we have created "FuoriClasse", also to meet the staff reduction. The brochures "una giornata al parco", "le grotte del Parco" and "Proposte verdi a Villa Torre" inform about guided visits: they are valid for the whole year.

Moreover, the Park also offers various typologies of guided visits and environmental workshops that can be carried out in the Park, in the Farmsteads and in Villa Torre Visitor Center, to discover the various Park environments where plants, animals, rocks, and other materials offer ideas for school activities or simply the opportunity to spend pleasant moments outdoors, discovering a rich and charming nature that has been able to preserve itself a few steps from a big town like Bologna.

Curiosities
Park! the new signs for children in the Park Visitor Centers
Since May 2011, the new signs for the Park children will be available. Below you will find the first work in progress with photos, drawings, and comments by children. Liveliness, freshness, and surprise have been demonstrated by the classes for the first drafts prepared by the graphic designer studio Belli Baldaro on behalf of the Park. For the first time, naturalistic signs will be completed by signs indicating curious or funny places where it is possible to play, explore, spend time with friends outdoors. At an adequate height for the little visitors, one meter, they can be read also from the drawing from three years of age. In other words, the acknowledgment of the presence of the little visitors who choose us, with original needs and tastes different from the ones of the adults. In this way, also in the hills and in the Park we can find places that are friends of the children.
