Didactic Activities 2018/2019

Including 10 municipalities and extending over 4,000 hectares and along a 60-km-long river and as much kilometers of cycle-pedestrian trails, the Gesso and Stura river Park represents a link between mountain and plain. The Park features built-up areas and production settlements, urban vegetable gardens and natural places inhabited by hundreds of animal species, some of which being of particular conservation interest: 200 bird species, 25 mammal species, 9 amphibian species, 8 reptile species, 54 butterfly species such as the very rare Maculinea Arion, and a considerable number of insects and other invertebrates.
The different river ecosystems represent a fundamental heritage for the environmental education, which is one of the Park's main goals and aims to make both children and adults aware of the richness and the intrinsic frailty of the natural environments surrounding us.
The Gesso and Stura river Park has been offering for many years didactic proposals and instruments adaptable to the school programs and meeting the needs of teachers.
The Park's activities,  planned and carried out by qualified and properly trained people, stand out thanks to their interactive, multisensory and interdisciplinary nature, and they tackle with natural, scientific and historical-cultural themes.
The Park collaborates with the near Alpi Marittime Nature Park, where the Gesso and Stura water courses originate, with the Mercantour National Park and with the Naturoptère environmental education center in Serignan du Comtat, with which it realizes European projects focusing on the environmental education. Learning within nature means to spend one's time in the open air, to move, to discover, to venture and thus learning while having fun!
