The access to Gola della Rossa if you come from the south is something that never disappoints. Among rugged ridges, calcareous formations, and sinuous bends, you will reach Pontechiaradovo, its gateway. The sudden awakening when you see the huge, white amphitheater will tell you where to park the car. After crossing the bridge on Esino, the bar, and after walking along the quarry on the right, the trekking shoes will find their right shape. After the railway line bridge, take on the left a large trail which with bends and crosswise leads to Grottafucile. A stop here is due, trying to experience, at least partly, the charm of the place and its past.
Always following the carriage road, climb to the pass I Colli. Leave the carriage road and climb the large slope covered with meadows. If you keep in the middle, you will find the trail which gradually becomes more evident and leads to the second carriage road. Go straight ahead on the steep northern ridge facing the slender silhouette of Revellone. The trail turns right and goes beyond the big hillock, in the pinewood, of the north-western ridge and then, along the western slope, offers aerial and panoramic views. After crossing the scree, do not take the dirt road but climb the crag to reach, along an evident track, the trail quickly leading to the summit.
