Sitting on the wall of the meadow of the abbey, the 475 meters separating from Mt. of Frasassi are few but offer a great quantity of emotions. You may even dream in this wonderful place. If the inspiration is disturbed by confusion and noise, it is time to get up, to cross the arch and the bridge, to take on the left the trail running along Sentino. Almost far from the "fray", climb to the woody ridge until you meet the carriage road coming from Pierosara and leading to the triad: Mezzogiorno, Occhialoni, Gradoni. Go ahead crosswise along the beautiful uphill trail becoming more panoramic towards the large pass between Mt. Frasassi and Mt. Ginguno. From the meadow, the trail cuts on the left the thick maquis to continue on the woody eastern slope. Not considering the summit, the route becomes even more pleasant among clearings, bushes, and rocky outcrops, foreshadowing the wonderful view offered by the southern ridge. It is difficult to take your eyes off the ravine with its steep bulwarks even if around it the space runs out to the far horizon. In front of you, the grassy and reassuring summit of Mt. Valmontagnana earns, sometimes, a glance. Changing point of view is useless, harmful for the ecosystem, and dangerous. It is better to go back… and keep dreaming.
