The Park Visitor Center

During the year 2005, the Park Authority has achieved an important goal: the opening of the new multipurpose offices and its Visitor Center.
Therefore, the Park Authority has at its disposal a building situated at the borders of the protected area, easily accessible also by the public means of transport (train) and on foot from the service areas along the highway, where we will welcome visitors and, in particular, groups of students.
In 2008, the opening of the new premises of "Spazio Escarton" Documentation Center, as well as the pedestrian connection with the highway service areas have improved the tourist services offered by the Park Authority. These premises have been created within the INTERREG IIIA 2000-2006 Program with the Projects:
  • "Environmental rehabilitation and enhancement along the Highway Torino-Bardonecchia and Autoroute de la Mourienne" (implemented by the Italian main partner, Società SITAF S.p.A., manager of the highway A32 Torino-Bardonecchia) and
  • "The Origins of a Transboundary Identity, an Itinerary to Discover the History of a Community" involing five Parks of the Cottian Alps (Val Troncea Park-main partner, Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Park, Orsiera Rocciavrè Park, Queyras Regional Park, Po Cuneese River Park), representing the historical areas of the five Escarton.
