Colombano Romean's Pertus

In the Municipality of Exilles, on the left bank of the Valley, at 2,000m near Quattro Denti di Chiomonte, there is a unique hydraulic work which today, as five hundred years ago, takes the waters from Rio Touilles and leads them to refresh the hottest slope of Susa Valley up to Cels and Ramat, country hamlets of Exilles and Chiomonte. It is a 500m long gallery with a section of about one meter and eighty for one meter, dug in eight long years from 1526 by Colombano Romean, a miner and stonecutter from Ramats, character symbol of the hard work in the mountains. The Park Ecomuseum has been dedicated to him.
