A Protected Area to Discover Step by Step

Where in Italy Parco delle Groane
The Park covers the most important and semi-natural area of the upper plain lying in Lombardy, more precisely in the north-west of Milan. It is a moorland very interesting from a geological point of view, since it is characterized by clayey terraces favouring the presence of many floristic species. The vegetation is rich in moorland (among the southernmost in Europe) which give gradually way to Scotch pine and birch woods and then to oak and hornbeam woods. The Park is rich in considerable interesting historical and artistic features, among which: the Castellazzo in Bollate, the Valera in Arese, Villa Borromeo in Senago, and Cascina Mirabella in Lentate sul Seveso, together with evidences of industrial archaeology.
