Cà del Re Nature Reserve

It is the largest moorland covered with woods (30 hectares) in the Groane and Brughiera Briantea Park, part of the "Groane Woods" Site of Community Importance. It is located in the municipality of Solaro and is miracolously preserved among big buildings and factories. It owes its name to King Vittorio Emanuele, who came here on visit as a guest of the Borromeo family - they had here a hunting and fishing estate consisting of a small hut. It is said that the King stopped to admire the small lake in front of the Ca'.
