Adotta un albero (Adopt a Tree)

The Groane and Brughiera Briantea Park proposes the "Adotta un albero" (Adopt a tree) initiative.

With a meaningful slogan that perfectly explains the meaning of this campaign: "Il Parco delle Groane è destinato ai tuoi figli e ai figli dei tuoi figli. Ci hai mai pensato? Adotta un albero o un bosco e dedicalo a chi ti è più caro!" ("The Groane Park is intended for your children and your children's children. Have you ever thought about it? Adopt a tree or a wood and dedicated it to those who are dearest to you!").

What does it consist of? Very simple. Go to the Groane Park headquarters or to the events organised by the authority (Polveriera Park Center, Solaro, MI) and tell at the reception desk that you want to join the "Adotta un albero" campaign. With 5 euros, you will be given a t-shirt of the protected area (many sizes from child to adult) and a parchment like the one in the poster, where there is the chosen location for planting the tree. As an alternative to the t-shirt, you can also receive the exclusive canteen, the cap, the handy canvas bag or the "PG" branded cinch bag as well as, of course, one of the special publications that are part of the "I quaderni del Parco delle Groane" series: Atlante delle farfalle diurne (Atlas of the diurnal butterfles), I mammiferi (Mammals), Atlante della flora (Atlas of flora), Atlante delle libellule (Atlas of dragonflies), and Atlante degli anfibi e dei rettili (Atlas of amphibians and reptiles).

Environmental Education in the Parks

If you enter into a protected area, you must do it on tiptoe. However if you do not fully "live" the Park, it becomes only a place where it is forbidden to do some things. On the contrary, a protected area is a place where it is possible to confront nature and man's culture.
The Proposals for the schools - one or half day excursions, meetings in the classroom - are characterized by active methodologies, games, adventure, discovery, observation, and by the use of different languages: scientific, cognitive, narrative, artistic, and expressive; different programmes according to the age and the didactic needs.

Guided Visits: "A few steps in the former powder magazine"

At weekends, our Voluntary Ecological Guards carry out guided visits of around 2 hours in the Former powder magazine area, upon request. These are truly unique experiences within a real wood that has taken over from the military posts and still remains as a reminder for the future. Inside the powder magazine wood, you can admire all the most valuable environments of the Groane, from moorland to oak woods, from ponds to willow hedges, and typical fauna.

To book (free of charge) a guided visit with our Voluntary Ecological Guards every Saturday and Sunday afternoon (at 3.00 p.m.), write an email to educazioneambientale@parcogroane.it
Reservation must be made no later than the Thursday before the weekend.
