Some History

In our Municipalities, we have heard about "Grugnotorto" since the early 1980s.
The rather mysterious name already appeared in the historical documents dating back to 1722 and involves a large countryside area surrounding the homonymous settlement which currently lies within the Municipality of Nova Milanese.
According to some witnesses, the name derives from "Grant ort", meaning large vegetable garden in the local dialect: the name now involves a larger territory which the adjacent Municipalities wanted to preserve from the indiscriminate invasion of houses and streets.
At that time the citizens began to commit themselves to the conservation of Grugnotorto from the building activity invasion. They created environmentalist and cultural associations which have actively and constantly represented an incentive for the creation of the Park. In this way, the most suitable instrument for the achievement of this aim was found: the establishment of a local park interesting more Municipalities, according to the regional law of 1983.

The PPI (Piano Pluriennale degli Interventi) sets out measures and actions whose implementation is scheduled in its validity period, specifying the necessary financial resources and the funding modalities, strongly related with the economic-financial planning instruments of the involved Municipalities.
