Scopalacqua Waterfall

The Vallone Scopalacqua waterfall, an area formed by the Mandarini stream, has a difference in height of about 40 m, eroding steeply inclined quartzite rocks. The area is surrounded by lush vegetation, including holly trees. Upstream of the waterfall, amidst rocks of the Numidian Flysch, we find the "Osmunda regalis", which the locals call Filici francis, i.e. an aquatic fern. The waterfall can be seen from the SP 54 main road to Petralia Sottana.
