Pollina - Flysh Numidico (Pollina - Numidian Flysch)

Numidian Flysch, a rock formation from the Sicilian Oligo-Miocene, composed of tobacco-coloured argillitic sediments in which there are quartzarenites, produced by underwater turbid currents and caused by earthquakes and submarine landslides. The entire built-up area of Pollina is built on the most important Numidian outcrop in Sicily.
