Parco Naturale La Mandria

In the distance, on Rubbianetta hill, it is possible to see the ruins of the ancient medieval castle belonging to the Viscounty of Baratonia.
The first written evidences of the presence of a fortress in this area date back to 1090, even if it was only in 1264 that the provost of the cathedral of Turin sold to Giacomo di Baratonia half of the castle with the relative noble rights for 125 lire of Wien.
