Parco Naturale La Mandria

Chiroptera (bats) include a third of the Italian terrestrial mammals and are one of the most endangered wildlife groups because of the environmental changes caused by man. In the ecosystems, they play the essential role of main nocturnal predators of insects.
At the moment, the available knowledge on the bats of La Mandria Park is not very rich: out of the 28 species registered in Piedmont, we know that at least 12 species live in the protected area.
